Steven B. Ratoff
Interim President & Chief Executive Officer


Mr. Ratoff was appointed by NovaDel's Board in July, 2007, to serve as Interim President and CEO.

Mr. Ratoff, a private investor, joined our Board in January 2006 and was elected Chairman of the Board in September 2006. Mr. Ratoff has served as a Venture Partner with ProQuest Investments, a health care venture capital firm, and is a member of the Board of Directors of TorreyPines Therapeutics, Inc. He also served as Chairman of the Board and Interim CEO of CIMA Labs, Inc. prior to its sale to Cephalon, Inc., and as Senior VP and CFO of the Pharmaceutical Group at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Mr. Ratoff brings extensive credentials to the Company from his distinguished career in the pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries.

Mr. Ratoff received his B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University and an M.B.A. with Distinction from the University of Michigan. Mr. Ratoff is also a retired Certified Public Accountant.
 
David H. Bergstrom, Ph.D.
Chief Operating Officer & Senior Vice President


Dr. Bergstrom joined NovaDel in December 2006 as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Bergstrom previously served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Pharmaceutical Development business of Cardinal Health, Inc. Dr. Bergstrom previously served as Vice President of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Development at Guilford Pharmaceuticals and also served in senior positions in preclinical development and pharmaceutical and analytical development at Hoechst Marion Roussel, Inc. and Hoechst-Roussel Pharmaceuticals, Inc., both predecessor companies of Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to that, Dr. Bergstrom worked in pharmaceutical development at CIBA-Geigy Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Dr. Bergstrom received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, his M.S. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his B.S. in Pharmacy from Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Michigan.
 
Michael E. Spicer, CPA
Chief Financial Officer & Corporate Secretary


Mr. Spicer joined NovaDel in December 2004 as our Chief Financial Officer and was named Corporate Secretary in April 2006. Mr. Spicer was previously Chief Financial Officer of Orchid Biosciences, Inc (now known as Orchid Cellmark Inc.), a leading provider of identity genetics testing services. At Orchid, he played a key role in the successful capital restructuring of the company and its achievement of operating profitability. Previously, Mr. Spicer served as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of Lifecodes Corporation until its acquisition by Orchid. His background includes over 20 years of finance and accounting experience with White River Corporation, The Chinet Company, Kraft General Foods and Deloitte & Touche.

Mr. Spicer is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A from Harvard University.
 
Deni M. Zodda, Ph. D.
Chief Business Officer & Senior Vice President


Dr. Zodda joined NovaDel in February 2007 as Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer. Prior to joining the Company, he was Principal of Medignostica, LLC, a consulting firm he owns which provided business development services to various clients and was acting Chief Executive Officer of StemCapture, Inc., a privately-held stem cell research company. Previously, Dr. Zodda served in varying capacities, including Senior Vice President, Business Development and Principal Financial Officer of Discovery Laboratories, Inc. Dr. Zodda had served as Managing Director of the Life Sciences Practice at KPMG. During the course of his career, Dr. Zodda also held senior management positions in business development, marketing and commercial operations at Cephalon, Inc., Wyeth, Baxter International Inc. and GlaxoSmithKline plc.

Dr. Zodda holds a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from the University of Santa Clara.
